JAMMU, June 9: Bhartiya Kala Sangam (BKS) organized a training programme on safeguarding and training of folk dance and music of Jammu region at Ambaran, Akhnoor, Choki Choura and Boran in Akhnoor in Jammu region, today.
On the occasion, Dhani Ram, Shiv Ram and Om Parkash were expert of the training programme. About 300 spectators’ witness the programme and the artists/students trained under the programme and highlighted the back ground of Dogra cultural traditions in different dance forms and also create interest in their art forms.
The programme was sponsored by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi (National Academy of Music and Dance and Drama) under the scheme of safeguarding and intangible culture heritage 2014-15.
On the occasion, T R Sharma, Chairman, Bhartiya Kala Sangam delivers their lecture regarding the subject.
Ramesh Singh, Director Bhartiya Kala Sangam presented vote of thanks and spoke that such type of programme is 1st time organized in these areas and also thanks Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi for sponsoring the project.
