JAMMU, June 9: A two days placement drive was organized by the Alumni and Placement Committee, MIER with an objective of providing job opportunities to its students in some of the best schools across States.
A placement team from the Kalgidhar Trust, Himachal Pradesh, visited the College for recruiting BEd, BEd Spl and MEd students for their schools in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.
Dr SS Advani, Director Human Resources Kalgidhar Trust, was the resource person, whereas Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER, Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, Dr Annie Kaul, HoD BEd General, Rohnika Sharma HOD BEd Special and faculty members along with the students of MIER College of Education were also present.
Dr Renu Gupta welcomed everybody and highlighted the achievements of alumni of MIER, who are well placed in the profession and are associated with institutions nationwide as well as outside the country.
She further added that in MIER College we not only focus on academics but inculcate life skills and values in our students so that they are professionally equipped for the field.
Dr SS Advani briefly oriented the students and faculty members about the Kalgidhar Trust and its mission and vision followed by a video presentation.
On the occasion, students were enthusiastically involved in the question answer session.
After the orientation, 28 students were interviewed and 13 students were selected from all the aforesaid three wings of the college. They were given provisional appointment letters to join the Kalgidhar Trust by 20th September at their head office Baru Sahib, HP.
Dr Arun Gupta, Director, MIER Group of Institutions assured full support to the College of Education in delivering outstanding value to the current and prospective students of the BEd and MEd programmes at MIER.
