JAMMU, June 3: Strike of employees of ASCOMS under the aegis of ASCOMS Employees Welfare Association today entered into 2nd day.
Hundreds of employees of the hospital assembled today in the premises of the hospital near main entrance gate and held protest against the hospital administration for ignoring the long pending demands of the employees.
Raising slogans against the hospital administration, the protesting employees accused the administration for its failure to settle their demands which included hike in salary, change of duty hours and improvement in service condition of the employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhushan Sharma, working president of the association said that the employees have been making efforts for the last more than one year to get their demands redressed by the hospital administration but their demands were never taken seriously and avoided every time whenever these were raised.
He said that prices of essential commodities are touching sky due to which the employees of the hospital are unable to meet the daily requirements of the families with meager amount of salary they get at present.
Laxman Ravinder Singh, Organizing Secretary, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, J&K, while addressing the protesting employees appealed them to fight unitedly for their genuine demands. He asked the employees to intensify the agitation to press the hospital administration to settle their genuine demands.
