SAMBA, May 26: In its continuing drive against menace of illicit liquor and its sale, a Police team headed by SI Surinder Singh Nagra under the supervision of Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Samba and Varinder Singh, Dy. SP HQ Samba, laid a Naka at New Bus Stand Samba and during the checking signaled a scooterist to stop but he tried to flee. However, the Naka party acted swiftly and nabbed him.
He has been identified as Shammi Banotra S/o Kali Dass R/o Lama Mandi Samba. During checking Police recovered 72 pouches (Frooties) from his possession, which he was transporting on his Scooter bearing Registration No. JK02S-1537 for sale on exorbitant rates in Samba area.
The police arrested him and a Case FIR No. 89/2015 U/S 48-A Excise Act has been registered with Police Station Samba and investigation started.
