JAMMU, Apr 23: Congress Legislature Party leader Nawang Rigzin Jora today strongly opposed the move of the Government to outsource police recruitment.
“Already this Government has dealt a severe blow to the hopes and aspirations of the educated unemployed youth with the new Recruitment Policy”, Mr Jora said, adding “the move to outsource recruitment in police is a further blow to the  fate of the unfortunate youth of the State”.
He alleged that Government’ s intentions are neither clean nor clear, adding “while contractual recruitment is being resorted to because of its inability to secure funding from the Government of India despite all the hoopla created by the Finance Minister, the police recruitment is being outsourced at the behest of the Home Ministry”.
Has the Government lost faith in police recruitment system? he asked, adding “what has compelled the Government to outsource police recruitment  as it is unheard of that any state has done so wonders”.
“The present recruitment system though not perfect would ensure representation to people of all walks of life – be they from the farthest corner of Ladakh to Kupwara to the remotest corner of Poonch or Bani, Basholi”, he said, adding “handing over to a private recruitment agency will deprive representation to such people”.
