JAMMU, Apr 5: Miran Sahib police arrested two persons along with 500 kilograms of Government ration, which was meant for public distribution through Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Miran Sahib police station conducted a raid in the house of Arun Kumar (painter), son of Yashpal of Gazipur, Kullian and recovered 50 kilograms of Government ration from his swift car.
Police team arrested Arun Kumar and during investigation, he disclosed that he had purchased the ration from Madan Lal, son of Daya Ram of Kullian.
The police team conducted raid in the house of Madan Lal and recovered 450 kilograms of Government ration and arrested him also.
During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that Madan Lal in connivance with CAPD dealer Darshan Lal use to black market the Government ration from CAPD Store, Kullian.
The ration was meant for public distribution but CAPD storekeeper along with Madan Lal use to sell the same among outsider and not to the beneficiaries.
A case under FIR number 47/15 under Section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act, 409 and 409 RPC has been registered at Miran Sahib police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the CAPD storekeeper.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Devinder Singh, SP Headquarters Randheer Singh and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
