One killed, 2 injured in mishaps

JAMMU, Jan 12: One person was killed and two others were injured in separate road mishaps in this winter capital of the State and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson a 55-year old man identified as Ram Dass son of Durga Dass, a resident of Babliana area of Satwari was killed on the spot when a truck bearing registration No JK02Q-0224 hit him at Gangyal area near J&K Bank. The dead body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs after conducting post mortem at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. The Gangyal police has registered a case against the truck driver who fled from the spot of crime.
In another mishap that happened at Jewel area, a pedestrian identified as Rashika (60) wife of Mohd Khurshid, a resident of Belicharana was injured after she was hit by a speeding mini-bus. A bike rider was also injured after being hit by a mini-bus at Greater Kailash area. The injured has been identified as Azhar (20) son of Imtiaz Ahmed, a resident of Bathindi. Both the injured were being treated at GMCH and were stated to be stable till the last reports came in. In both the cases, the concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
