Foundation Day of SVMM observed

JAMMU, Jan 12: The annual Foundation Day of Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission (SVMM) Ambphalla, a Charitable Hospital was observed today on the 151th birth anniversary of this great saint of India.
On the occasion a havan was performed by the president of the SVMM Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, other members of the Mission and members of the Management Committee and Hospital administration staff.
Besides, rich tributes were also paid to Swami Ji. The president informed the gathering that in tune with saying of Swami Ji “Nar Sewa, Narayan Sewa, the Mission has taken up the task of providing total health care to all the sections of the society especially to the poor and down trodden members.
He said over the period of time the hospital has progressed in terms of infrastructure development and up gradation of medical services such as laparoscopic surgery, highly specialized dental and surgical treatment including obstruction and Gynaecology.
He said on popular public demand the Mission has under taken the construction of 25 rooms five storey block having single room accommodation by providing 24 rooms. The work is in progress and the funds are being provided by the members of Management Committee and hospital doctors construction of 14 rooms.
Prof Gupta also appealed the gathering to donate freely to accomplish this task by providing highly specialized services to the ailing community. The total requirement of the funds is Rs 25 crore, he added.
