JAMMU, Dec 24: Various educational institutions celebrated Christmas with religious gaiety, fervour and enthusiasm across Jammu city, here today.
Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated Christmas festival with ardour and zeal in the School premises. A special assembly was organized on the eve of Christmas, keeping in mind its sanctity and relevance.
The children presented an impressive array of programme. The pre-primary classes added gaiety and the roller skaters were vibrant in their display. Speaking on the occasion, Additional Director, Dr D Joseph congratulated the students and staff and highlighted the importance of the festival. Headmistress Ruchi Chabra and Meenu Gupta, Headmistress upto Middle Block were present on the occasion.
On the eve of Christmas, Shiksha Niketan celebrated birth of Jesus Christ with New Year Resolution.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal, Rameshwar Singh Mengi along with Principal of RM College.
Students of 11th and 12th classes displayed ‘Jhankis’ related to birth of Jesus Christ. The students sang carols and performed many items on the stage with zeal and fervour. Students enjoyed different games and stalls during the day.
Heaven Angels Play Way School and Heaven Kingdom High School, Janki Vihar, Janipur celebrated Christmas with religious gaiety. The students dressed in Fair and Santa Claus performed on various Christmas carols. School Principal, Renu Sachdeva threw light on the teachings and life of Jesus Christ.
The students of Indira Kids Play Way School, Janipur welcomed santa claus and celebrated Merry Christmas with great pomp and show. The School Principal threw light on the importance of the day.
Christmas was celebrated in the premises of Abhay Higher Secondary School, Muthi. A colourful programme was presented by the students, depicting the life of Jesus Christ. Sweets were distributed among the students by santa claus. School Principal and Vice Principal spoke on the occasion.
To carry on the tradition of the School of participating in all festivals, KC Play School, Udhampur celebrated Christmas with pomp and show here today. All the kids celebrated a big Christmas party with special food items. The students were dressed up in red party dresses. Jingle bells jingle bells was all around in the air. Santa claus distributed sweets among the kids.
Christmas was celebrated in the true spirit in Air Force School Jammu. The Nursery Wing of the School sparkled and glittered with the festive decoration which was carried out meticulously to suit the occasion.
Vikesh Sandhal, Principal of the School wished the children Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead. A very impressive cultural programme was put up by the students.
The programme began by the welcome speech by Bharti C S, which was followed by the singing of Christmas carol.
The vote of thanks was presented by Raman Arora, Headmaster of the School.
Chenab College of Education presented programmes to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Jesus. Students showcased the Nativity Play followed by the Choir group singing Christmas carols in praise of the Lord. The students relished the tasty refreshments and danced together.
Students were given glimpses from the life of Jesus and his teachings were enumerated by the Principal Kamal Deep Kour.
JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School and its affiliated unit JK Little Millienium Pre School Talab Tillo celebrated Christmas in School premises with religious fervour and gaiety.
Students were dressed in colourful costumes depicting the roles of “Fairy” and “Santa”. Students participated in “Fancy Dress” Contest and the best dressed kids were awarded.
Director Academics, Rajni Gupta thanked the parents and staff for their active participation and blessed the kids for their contribution for the event.

A special assembly was conducted today in MHAC School, Nagbani to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. A Christmas tree was put up in the School, decorated with small ornaments, stars and gifts. Christmas carols were sung by the School choir. Students elaborated upon the teachings of Jesus and the importance of Christmas. Children dressed as Santa Claus distributed sweets among the students. The School Principal, Alok Betab wished the students Merry Christmas and told them that Christmas is a celebration of love, universal brotherhood and a festival of sharing one’s possessions with others.
Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Greater Kailash, Jammu, celebrated Christmas with great fervour and enthusiasm. The stage was decorated with Christmas trees, stars and balloons. A nativity scene was created on the stage. Students portrayed and enacted a skit marking the birthday of Jesus Christ. The students of Primary and Secondary Wing of Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School celebrated Christmas and New Year with great enthusiasm. Goenkans celebrated Christmas with religious fervor and enthusiasm in their School premises. A special assembly was organized, wherein Christmas carols were sung by the students. Christmas message was imparted to the students to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Crescent Public School, Janipur celebrated Christmas, in which school faculty and students participated actively.
