JAMMU, July 26: Minister for Cooperatives, Finance and Stationeries, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today reviewed the functioning and the business targets of Super Bazaar.
The Minister visited the Super Bazaar Complex and interacted with the team of officials led by General Manager Ram Kesh Sharma and other.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the main objective of the Super Bazaar was to provide essentials of life to the people at cheaper rates as compared to the open market. He asked the management to take innovative measures to expand the business of the organization at all its shopping centres in and around Jammu city.
Inquiring about the sales recorded by Super Bazaar and various outlets during the current year, the Minister asked the concerned to work hard to raise the scale of profit, adding that the financial self sufficiency of the company would be equally beneficial for the employees as they will be able to get their dues.
Stressing the need to further streamline the business activities of the organization, Dr. Manohar Lal urged upon the functionaries to evolve better work culture by putting in their sincere efforts to achieve the set business targets. He called for adopting innovative ideas to improve the business of the organization.
The Minister informed that the medical outlets of super bazaar are providing medicines at 5 percent less than market prices and 50 percent less on surgical items.
With regard to the demand of extending Sixth Pay Commission benefits to the employees, the Minister assured that 6th Pay Commission arrears would be given to the super bazaar employees from August, 2012. He also announced medical allowance of Rs. 200 per month in favour of the employees.
The Minister was informed that the business of the organization was improving day by day with the expansion of activities through its outlets. He appealed the general public to come and avail the benefits by purchasing domestic and other items at cheaper rates adding that this would also help to keep a check on the market prices.
Among others Administrator, Super Bazaar, Rohit Khajuria, Deputy Registrar, Uddam Dass, District Audit Officer, Yasir Arafat, Chairman Housing Corporation, V.K. Mattoo and other staff members were present on the occasion.
