RAJOURI, July 26: A villager was murdered and his body packed in a gunny bag was thrown into nallah in Kandi area of district Rajouri.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rehman, son of Makhna, a resident of Khandigali. Rehman was around 30 year old and running a Maniyari shop in the area. His shop was at some distance from the village. He went missing on the night of July 16 and the family lodged a missing report with concerned police the next day.
Some people noticed the gunny bag lying in the bushes near a nallah and went nearer. It was giving foul smell and they could not got closer. They informed police about the matter. A police party from Kotranka went to the spot and found body of missing Abdul Rehman in it. His face was nearly disfigured with stones. However, the people of the area and family members recognized the body from appearance and clothes.
The body of the deceased was shifted for postmortem to local hospital and later handed over the family for last rites. The police registered a case and started investigation. The police also said to have got some clue into the matter. It was believed that some illicit relations could be the reason behind the crime.
