JAMMU, Nov 20: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by one Paras Gupta regarding various indecent and vulgar advertisements and programmes on various TV channels, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today directed the Union Government to file response to the petition.
After hearing both the sides, DB observed, “counsel for the PIL insists that despite the directions issued by respondent to various channels, the advertisement continues unabated. He requests for some time to place on record any material/additional affidavit showing that objectionable advertisement continues its telecast”.
“Needful shall be done within four weeks”, the DB said and directed Union of India to also file response to the writ petition.
