JAMMU, Nov 14: Nowabad police today busted pick-pocketing racket with the arrest of three women and recovery of stolen cash.
As per police sources, a person namely Mohammad Yaqoob of district Poonch was traveling in a mini-bus from Vikram Chowk to Jammu, when three ladies stole his Rs 30,000 cash.
On reaching Jewel Chowk, the person raised hue and cry and the police team from Nowabad police station immediately swung into action to arrest the accused.
After hectic efforts, Nowabad police team finally arrested three women and recovered the stolen amount from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Payal, Shakuntla and Sanjana, all residents of Madhya Pradesh, presently residing in Pathankote.
The accused used to travel from Pathankote to Jammu by trains and after finding crowded mini-buses and buses, they loot the passengers of their valuables and fled away.
Incidents of pick-pocketing were also reported earlier also and with the arrest of these three ladies, Nowabad police busted the pick-pocketing racket.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Nowabad police station and investigation started to arrest other members of the gang.
Police team led by SHO Nowabad police station Karan Chalotra made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Shriram, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
