JAMMU, May 23: A one-day oncology conference was organized in Jammu today by Aashray Cancer Trust in collaboration with American Oncology Institute ASCOMS Jammu.
Around 50 oncologists and cancer specialists from different places attended the conference to deliberate on recent developments in cancer care and treatment.
The conference featured nearly 27 academic sessions, including panel discussions and debates, focusing on breast, gastrointestinal (GI), lung, urology, and head and neck cancers. The event was organized by senior medical oncologist Dr Satyanker Gupta of AOI Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Dr Pavan Malhotra (Director Principal, ASCOMS Jammu) emphasized the importance of organizing such academic conferences in Jammu to ensure that patients in the region receive the benefits of the latest advancements and expertise in oncology treatment.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr Shamit Chopra, who shared insights into advancements in head and neck cancer surgery and management.
During the closing ceremony, lifetime achievement awards were presented by Aashray Cancer Trust to Dr Anil Gupta, Dr Ajay Wakhloo, Dr Vinod Raina and Dr Suparno Chakrabarti for their contribution to the field of oncology and medical sciences.
