Valedictory function of police training courses held at SKPA Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, May 23: The valedictory function of two training programmes — the GOs Refresher Course and the course on Investigation of Traffic Accident Cases — was held today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Udhampur-Reasi (U-R) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the participants, he emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and capacity building in policing.
He said refresher and specialized investigation courses help officers improve operational efficiency, update their knowledge of modern policing techniques and strengthen professional skills to deal with emerging challenges effectively.
Speaking about the GOs refresher course, Sharma said officers at supervisory levels must remain updated with changing legal frameworks, leadership practices, technological advancements and modern policing methods.
He advised the participants to use the knowledge gained during the programme in their field assignments for better public service delivery.
Referring to the course on Investigation of Traffic Accident Cases, the DIG stressed the need for scientific and professional investigation of road accidents.
He highlighted the importance of proper scene management, evidence collection, forensic support and analytical investigation for ensuring justice and accountability.
He also urged officers to adopt a systematic and technology-driven approach while handling accident cases.
Rajesh Sharma and Benam Tosh, Deputy Directors of SKPA, along with faculty members, were present during the function.
Certificates were distributed among the participants, while Rakesh Sambyal and Inspector Naseer Mehmood Naik coordinated the GOs Refresher Course and Inspector Vikrant Kotwal along with Tejinder Chopra coordinated the traffic accident investigation course.
