KATRA, May 20: Police arrested a female drug peddler during checking at Varun Chowk and recovered 58 grams of cannabis from her possession.
The accused has been identified as: Sanjana, wife of Deepak, resident of Amritsar and presently residing at Saraswati Chowk. She was intercepted a Police team from Police Station Katra and during the search, 58 grams of cannabis was recovered from her possession.
Notably, the accused was previously involved in two NDPS cases registered at Police Station Katra, under FIR No. 27/2026 dated 19/01/2026, Sections 8/20 NDPS Act and FIR No. 95/2026 dated 13/04/2026, Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
Following the latest recovery, a third case, FIR No. 154/2026 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra. Further investigation is underway.
