Srinagar, May 13: Anantnag Police today solved a theft case involving stolen electronic items from Government Medical College’s (GMC) Dialgam campus, recovering all the stolen property and apprehending one accused.
According to police, the theft involved a desktop computer, a high-end laptop and other electronic accessories from the medical college premises.
Police Post Dialgam initiated an investigation immediately after receiving the complaint and conducted a detailed enquiry.
During the investigation, bank transaction details of several suspects were obtained from concerned banks and analysed, police said.
The analysis reportedly revealed suspicious transactions linked to two persons, which led the investigating team to the accused.
Police identified the arrested accused as Fahad Bilal, son of Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Bangdar Danter.
During questioning, he allegedly confessed to his involvement in the theft along with another accused, identified as Aazan Bhat of Moominabad.
Acting on the disclosure made by the accused, police recovered all the stolen electronic items, including the desktop computer, high-end laptop and other accessories, officials said.
Police said a case under FIR No. 142/2026 has already been registered at the concerned police station under Sections 331 and 305(E) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), while further investigation is underway.
