JAMMU, May 8: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, today chaired a high-level tri-range security review meeting at Sunderbani to assess the prevailing security situation and review preparedness measures across the Jammu region ahead of the forthcoming Yatra season.
The meeting was attended by DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Shridhar Patil, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Sandeep Wazir, DIG BSF KS Nautiyal, DIG CRPF Naresh Kumar, SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar and SSP Reasi Mukund Tibrewal, besides other senior officers of security agencies.
Officials said detailed discussions were held on the overall security scenario in the region with focus on strengthening operational coordination, intelligence sharing and area domination exercises across the three police ranges.
The IGP Jammu reviewed the existing security grid and discussed measures aimed at improving preparedness, response mechanisms and joint operational capabilities in sensitive areas.
During the meeting, Bhim Sen Tuti stressed on the importance of close coordination among Jammu and Kashmir Police, BSF, CRPF and other security agencies to effectively tackle emerging security challenges.
He emphasized continuous sharing of intelligence inputs, synchronized operations and real-time communication to maintain peace and stability in the region.
The officers also discussed strengthening the anti-infiltration grid, particularly along the second-tier deployment areas, and maintaining heightened vigil in vulnerable locations.
Special focus was laid on National Highway security arrangements and ensuring enhanced preparedness for the upcoming pilgrimage season.
The meeting further highlighted the need for regular updating of databases, timely dissemination of actionable intelligence and strengthening inter-agency communication systems for swift response during operational situations.
Emphasis was also laid on sustained training and capacity building of Village Defence Guards to strengthen the grassroots security network in border and hinterland areas of Jammu region.
