JAMMU, May 7: Police in Domana area here claimed today they have arrested an alleged fraudster involved in multiple cheating cases registered in different police stations of Jammu district.
The accused has been identified as Vishal Singh of Patoli Brahamana, Jammu.
A police official said he was arrested by a team from Police Station Domana headed by SHO concerned, Inspector Varuneshwar Singh Jamwal after sustained efforts as he had been evading arrests for a long time.
He said the accused allegedly duped several people of lakhs of rupees through fraudulent activities, including cheating in land deals and falsely promising jobs in Police Department.
According to the police official, several cases are registered against the accused individuals for multiple natures of crimes at Police Stations Domana, Khour, and Janipur.
He said the accused is also facing complaints of similar nature at Police Station Domana and investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, police advised the public not to enter into financial transactions or trust promises related to jobs or property deals without proper verification.
People have also been asked to immediately report any suspicious efforts or fraudulent activities to the nearest police station.
