JAMMU, May 2: Dogri Book ‘Mere Man Bhandey Geet’ written by Subhan Mohammad was released here today by Nami Dogri Sanstha.
Ch. Lal Singh, former Minister was chief guest on the occasion whereas Om Vidyarathi, Sahitya Academy Awardee presided over the function.
Dr. Nasib Singh Manhas, former Director Doordarshan was guest of honour. Usman Salaria, Senior Advocate was special invitee and Shailender Singh, SSP Railway and Sahitya Academy Awardee was special guest.
Dogra Harish Kaila, president NDS and Prof. Anupama Sharma, patron NDS also shared the dais while Yash Pal Yash, NDS general secretary compeered the proceedings.
At the outset, Suman Sharma, noted Dogri Writer read detailed paper on the book, thereafter the dignitaries released the book.
This is the second book of Dogri Lyrics by the poet Subhan Mohammad.
Ch Lal Singh while speaking on the occasion called upon more young writers and poets to write in Dogri and prove their creativity.
Dr. Nasib Singh Manhas, also a Dogri Lyricist praised the contents and range of the lyrics of Subhan Mohammad.
Shailender Singh said that the poetry of Subhan is fully compatible with nature.
Usman Salaria said Dogri language is the identity of Dogras and it is high time that we should start protecting Dogri.
Om Vidyarathi lauded NDS for the tireless endeavours to propagate the cause of Dogri.
Anupama Sharma and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila also spoke on the occasion.
