US Central Command requests hypersonic weapons for strikes on Iran: Reports

WASHINGTON, April 30: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has requested hypersonic missiles Dark Eagle for the possible use against Iran, the Bloomberg news agency reported.
The request is explained by the redeployment of Iranian launch systems out of the reach of Precision Strike Missiles that hit targets within more than 300 miles.
No decision has been made yet, according to Bloomberg. If the decision is made, it will be the first deployment of US hypersonic missiles.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran responded by striking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
On April 11, Iran and the United States held talks in Islamabad after President Donald Trump announced he had reached an agreement with Tehran on a two-week ceasefire. On April 12, the head of the US delegation, Vice President JD Vance, said Iran and the US had failed to reach an agreement during the negotiations. The US delegation returned home without a deal.
