Jammu, Apr 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered a stop-gap arrangement in the Accounts (Gazetted) Service, placing 57 Assistant Accounts Officers as Incharge Accounts Officers in their own pay and grade.
As per Government Order No. 169-F of 2026 dated April 29, issued by the Finance Department, the arrangement has been made with charge allowance as admissible under rules for a period of six months or till the posts are filled on a regular basis through the DPC/PSC, whichever is earlier.
The move has been taken in the interest of administration to ensure smooth functioning of the department and to address vacancies in the Accounts (Gazetted) Service.
The order further states that the arrangement is purely temporary and will not confer any preferential right upon the officers for regular promotion as Accounts Officers.
It also mentioned that the placements shall be subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts or tribunals.
The order has been issued by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance Department, Shailendra Kumar (IAS), with immediate effect. (KNC)
