ITBP inks MoU with Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre

LEH, Apr 25: To strengthen the mental resilience and overall well-being of personnel deployed in extreme conditions, the North-West Frontier of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Leh, Ladakh to introduce structured counselling programmes and Yoga sessions focused on stress management and mental wellness for forces operating in high-altitude environments.
The MoU was signed by Ven Bhikkhu Sanghasena, who represented Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre and DIG Tashi Namgyal from ITBP NW Frontier.
For over three decades, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre has been at the forefront of promoting Yoga and meditation across Ladakh, playing a transformative role in fostering inner well-being within the community. Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre is also a recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Outstanding Contribution for Promotion and Development of Yoga, recognizing its exceptional contribution to the promotion and development of Yoga at the national level. Already, hundreds of personnel from Armed forces have benefitted from the Yoga sessions at Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre.
Under the terms of the MoU, officers and jawans of ITBP will receive structured Yoga training sessions conducted by experienced instructors from MIMC. These sessions are designed not only to enhance physical endurance but also to provide psychological solace, emotional balance and mental clarity-essential attributes for personnel stationed in high-altitude, high-stress zones.
