Speaking to reporters in Anantnag district, Abdullah said he offers homage to all those who lost their lives last year in the terror attack, particularly a young man who was killed while trying to save tourists during the attack.
“He did not stand down,” Abdullah said, describing his actions as an act of courage against terrorism.
The NC Chief said the attack had adversely impacted the region, which has been working towards stability.
On international developments, Abdullah expressed optimism over the proposed second round of US-Iran talks, saying continued dialogue would eventually lead to peace.
“Talks may take time, but they will reach a conclusion. Peace will prevail, and that is the only way the world can be saved,” he said.
On the issue of reservation, the NC president said his party is not opposed to it and termed any such perception a “misunderstanding.”
He recalled that when the Women’s Reservation Bill was introduced in 2023, it was passed with a majority.
He reiterated the need for clarity on the issue, while maintaining that his party supports measures aimed at inclusive representation.
