POONCH, Apr 16: The police recovered some quantity of Ganja and Charas from a dug-peddler in Surankote area of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that a police team from Police Station Surankote during Naka observed a suspicious person approaching towards them on-foot. On noticing the police presence, the person attempted to flee, however, alert cops nabbed him after a brief chase.
During his frisking, about 234 gms of Ganja and 14 gms of Charas, were recovered from his possession. Upon questioning, the accused identified himself as Imran Khan, son of Mehmood Ahmed, a resident of Fazlabad, Surankote in district Poonch.
A case FIR No. 90/2026 has been registered at Police Station Surankote in this connection. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and destination of the recovered contraband, official said.
