Three drug peddlers held with 32.96 grams heroin

UDHAMPUR, Apr 14: Police apprehended three drug peddlers and recovered 32.96 grams heroin from their possession.
Reports said that a police team of Police Station Majalta, while performing routine naka checking at Battal Naka, intercepted a Wagon-R car bearing registration number JK02AJ-1833 which was coming from Ramkot towards Battal.
During the checking, 21.97 grams of heroin was recovered from possession of the person driving the car, following which he was arrested on the spot. The accused disclosed his identity as Aqib Asharf, son of Mohd Asharf Wani, of Damhall Khoshrpora, Tehsil Dooru, District Anantnag.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 47/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Majalta Police Station. Further investigation into the case is underway.
Meanwhile, a Police patrolling party of PP Roun Domail, noticed suspicious movement of two persons coming from Battal Ballian side towards Roun Domail Market. The police party apprehended both the individuals for checking purposes. During frisking, Police recovered 5.45 grams heroin from one person and 5.54 grams from the other person.
Both the accused disclosed their identities as Irfan, son of Abdul Rashid of Jakhani, Udhampur and Waseem, son of Abdul Rashid of Jakhani, Udhampur.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 143/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation into the matter is underway.
