Has ‘irrefutable evidence’ of Russia sharing intelligence with Iran, claims Zelensky

KYIV, Mar 24 : Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said Kyiv possesses “irrefutable evidence” that Russia has been providing intelligence support to Iran.

The claim was made following a meeting with Ukraine’s military intelligence leadership, where Zelensky reviewed assessments presented by the head of the country’s military intelligence agency (HUR), Oleh Ivashchenko.

“Russia is utilizing its own capabilities in radio-technical and electronic intelligence, as well as some intelligence shared by partners in the Middle East,” Zelensky said in a post on Telegram summarising the discussions.

There has been no immediate reaction from Russia or Iran to the allegations.

Zelensky’s remarks come as tensions in the West Asia  intensify during the fourth week of the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran.

Moscow and Tehran have strengthened ties in recent years, particularly during Russia’s war in Ukraine, with Iran supplying drones and other military equipment to Russian forces.

According to recent media reports, Russia had proposed halting intelligence-sharing with Iran if the United States reciprocated by stopping intelligence support to Ukraine, a suggestion Washington reportedly rejected.

Zelensky also said Ukraine has “clear information” that Russia plans to deploy additional ground control stations for long-range drones, both in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories and in Belarus.

He added that Western allies would be briefed on the findings.
