JAMMU, Mar 16: An interactive programme on Vocational Skill Development organised by All J&K Shree Guru Ravidass Sabha (SGRS ) was held here today.
The programme was organized in collaboration with the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) was aimed to create awareness about skill development and self-employment schemes among unemployed qualified, semi-qualified housewives and youth associated with different technical and professional activities belonging to the SC, ST, OBC and other weaker sections of society.
The event was organised under the leadership of Rajesh Kumar, Director KVIC J&K (UT).
Chief spokesperson Prof C L Shivgotra in his address highlighted the objectives of the initiative and stressed the importance of vocational training and entrepreneurship for improving the economic condition of disadvantaged communities.
Rajesh Kumar provided detailed information about various schemes implemented by KVIC for promoting vocational skills and entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the occasion, R C Bhasin emphasised the importance of organising such awareness programmes for the socio-economic upliftment of weaker sections.
Prof G L Thapa also addressed the gathering and highlighted the benefits of various schemes being implemented by KVIC for community development.
The programme was attended by Tara Chand, Surjeet Singh Heer and Bodh Raj Kalsi.
