JAMMU, Mar 6: Police here at Phallian Mandal area today claimed to have solved a theft case within 24 hours by arresting the accused and recovering the stolen gold ornaments from his possession.
A police official said a complaint was received on March 5 regarding the theft of gold ornaments from a house falling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Phallian Mandal.
Acting on the complaint, he said, a case under the relevant sections of the law was registered at the Satwari Police Station and investigation was immediately taken up by the police.
During the course of investigation, a team of police led by PSI Naresh Kumar, Incharge Police Post Phallian Mandal, under the supervision of SHO Satwari, SDPO City South and SP Jammu South Ajay Sharma, conducted sustained efforts and technical analysis to trace the accused, he said.
The police official added that the investigation led to the arrest of one Rahul Kumar of Ganeshu Chak in Tehsil Mandal of Jammu district.
On the disclosure of the accused, he said, the stolen property, including one pair of gold bangles and one gold ring was recovered.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway.
