Samba police seizes 127 gram heroin, Rs 60,000, arrests 3 smugglers

SAMBA, Jan 29: In a significant crackdown on narcotics smuggling, Samba police has arrested three drug smugglers including a lady in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur and recovered approximately 127 grams heroin like substance (Chitta) along with cash of Rs.60,600.00 from their possession.
Acting on information received from reliable sources regarding smuggling of heroin (Chitta) by three persons including a lady travelling in a Innova car coming from Rakh Barotian towards Vijaypur, a team of Police Station Vijaypur laid a Naka at Tarapur and successfully intercepted the Innova car bearing Registration Number JKO2DD-2516.
A police spokesman said during checking of the vehicle, approximately 127 grams of heroin- along with cash of Rs.60,600.00 was recovered from the possession of three persons travelling in the vehicle.
He said the drug smugglers identified as Fardeen Ahmed Dar, son of Javed Ahmed Dar of Tengpora Bypass Batmaloo district Srinagar, Mohd Usman,son of Mohd Yousaf of Talab Khatikan district Jammu and Iqra, wife of Aqib of Shalteng district Srinagar have been arrested and the contraband item has been seized. The car involved in the crime has also been seized in the instant case.
A case FIR No 19/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started, he added.
The operation was carried out by a team of PS Vijaypur headed by SHO PS Vijaypur under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, spokesman said.
