RAJOURI, Jan 20: A shocking incident of a stray dog attack was reported from Thandikassi area of Rajouri, where a one-year-old child, identified as Pranav, sustained injuries after being bitten by a dog.
According to Medical Superintendent, Dr Shamim Chowdhary the child was immediately brought to the Anti-Rabies Section, od GMC Rajouri, with a Category-III dog bite injury on the face, just below the right eye. The child received prompt and appropriate medical treatment.
Dr Shamim informed that after proper wound washing, the patient was administered Anti-Rabies Vaccine (ARV) and Anti-Rabies Serum (ARS) as per standard medical protocol. The condition of the child is stated to be stable and under observation.
The incident has once again highlighted the growing menace of stray dogs in residential areas, particularly posing a serious threat to children. Local residents have urged the concerned authorities to take immediate and effective measures for the control and management of stray dog population to prevent such incidents in the future.
