In a statement issued here, the CBK said the charge sheet in FIR No. 10/2024 has been filed under Sections 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code before the Court of the Sub-Judge, Baramulla.
The accused have been identified as Aquib Javeed, son of Mohammad Ayoub, and Mohammad Ahtesham Ahmad, son of Mohammad Ayoub, both residents of Ring Road, Adarsh Nagar, Gulbarga, district Kalaburagi, Karnataka.
According to the CBK, the case originated from a written complaint alleging that the complainant was approached by one Dr. Shamsu-Din, working at Al-Amin Medical College, Bijapur, Karnataka, who assured him of arranging MBBS admission for his son through accused Aquib Javeed.
Acting on this assurance, the complainant was induced to pay an amount of Rs 13 lakh.
However, the CBK said that neither was the complainant’s son granted admission in any Medical College nor was the money returned.
Following receipt of the complaint, a detailed investigation was launched by the Police Station Economic Offences Wing, CBK.
During the investigation, as per CBK, it emerged that Aquib Javeed, in criminal conspiracy with his brother Mohd Ahtesham Ahmad, “had cheated” the complainant by “falsely promising admission” to his son in KBN Medical College, Bijapur.
The investigation established the commission of offences punishable under Sections 420 and 120-B IPC against the accused, the CBK said.
Consequently, the CBK said the charge sheet has been submitted before the competent court in absentia after initiating proceedings under Section 512 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
