JAMMU, Jan 9: The Technical Committee of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) conducted a meticulous pitch inspection today at Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) Hostel Ground ahead of the U-14 boys’ selection trials.
The expert panel assessed the entire playing surface to ensure optimal conditions, including true bounce, consistent pace and fair wear, enabling young cricketers to showcase their skills effectively. The inspection reflects DYSS’s commitment to maintaining high standards in youth sports and fostering the next generation of cricket talent from the Union Territory.
The upcoming three-day trials will feature 48 shortlisted players, divided into four teams, with two matches scheduled each day. Expert selectors will evaluate performances closely to identify promising talent for future representation.
The inspection team included Pankaj Sasan, Jagtar Singh, Payal Chaudhary, Satika Pangotra, Umesh and Nayna Kashyap, who ensured that the pitch and ground meet the standards required for a fair and competitive selection process.
