JAMMU, Jan 8: To discuss the issues and draw the immediate attention of the concerned authorities, a meeting of the J&K Government Retirees Pensioner Employees Association (GRPEA) was held here today.
The meeting was held under the presidentship of Kulwant Singh Sambyal, president of GRPEA.
The members of association requested the Government to release their pending pensioner benefits at the earliest and to provide them the benefits with interest, calculated from the date of pensioner, as compensation for the delayed payment.
They urged the Government to look into this matter urgently and take necessary actions to restore our benefits, ensuring that we can meet our financial obligations and live with dignity.
Speaking on the occasion, Sambyal said, “These issues are not isolated incident but reflect widespread systematic problems that require urgent intervention. Despite years of dedicated services, several irregularities and delays have occurred causing mental, emotional and financial distress to many pensioners.”
The members also discussed their issues included, commuted loan amount not received despite monthly dedications of all treasury officers J&K, enhancement of Medical Allowance, release of 18 months pending DA arrears and release of GPF.
They further appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah to intervene in this matter and issue the directions to Principal Secretary for Finance to resolve their long pending issues without more delay.
