Drug-peddler held with heroin

RAJOURI, Jan 3: The police arrested a drug-peddler from Sunderbani area and recovered some quantity of heroin from his possession.
An official spokesman said that a police party led by SHO Sunderbani, Inspector Rajiv Sharma, recovered 4 grams of heroin from an individual during Naka near ITI at Sunderbani. He said during the checking, a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number PB01D-8780 en-route from Jammu to Rajouri, was stopped for Checking. While checking the passengers, one person was found behaving suspiciously. On his personal search 4 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Sikander Shah, son of Munawar Hussain, resident of Draj, Kotranka in Rajouri. In this regard a Case FIR No. 01/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani and further investigation is underway.
