Admn gives 7-day ultimatum to remove encroachments

POONCH, Dec 30: The local administration in Poonch City has issued 7-day ultimatum to traders, vendors and others to remove encroachment from the market.
Reports said Tehsildar Poonch/ Haveli in his capacity as Ist Class Magistrate, has issued a notice directing the removal of illegal encroachments in various markets of the City including Haji and Tandon Markets, citing obstruction of public pathways and violation of standing Municipal norms.
As per notice of Tehsildar Haveli, Azhar Majid, several shopkeepers and property owners have extended their establishments beyond permissible limits, causing inconvenience to the general public. It has caused obstruction in the free movement of general public.
All concerned shopkeepers and owners have been asked to remove the unauthorized encroachments within seven days from the date of issuance of the notice. The administration has made it clear that failure to comply within the stipulated period will lead to forcible removal or demolition of the encroachments without any further notice.
The notice further stated that the encroached material/goods will be seized and the entire cost of demolition and removal will be recovered from the defaulters.
