KATRA, Dec 29: Police rescued four minor children who were found begging on Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ban Ganga track, here today.
Upon noticing the minors engaged in begging, a team of Police station Katra immediately intervened and rescued the children after which necessary legal as well as welfare procedures were initiated strictly as per established norms, while also coordinating with the relevant stakeholders.
The matter was brought to the notice of the concerned Child Welfare Authorities, namely PRAYAS Juvenile Aid Centre, Katra, Reasi. Subsequently, the rescued children were handed over to the said centre for further care, protection and rehabilitation.
The whole operation was carried out by SHO Katra, Insp Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra, Dr Bhishm Dubey.
