Kathua- PRAYAS selected for “SKOCH Order of Merit”

JAMMU, Aug 31: PRAYAS – (an SMS based Online Public Grievance Monitoring System) has been selected for “SKOCH Order of Merit”.
The innovative imitative PRAYAS started by the then Deputy Commissioner, Kath-ua,   Jitendra Kumar Singh, to listen and redress the grievances of public through a system in which people can lodge their grievances directly with the Deputy Commissioner from their home and get the timely disposal of their complaints in an efficient manner, has been declared as amongst the best projects in the country by the Jury.
PRAYAS-Kathua provides services during the office hours in an integrated, efficient, transparent, easily accessible, responsive, user friendly, cost effective manner and also provides time saving platform for public grievances redressal through the use of modern communication technologies.
District Development Commissioner, Kathua along with all District Officers/ Sectoral Officers   listen to public grievances through speaker phone on every Wednesday between 10 AM to 11 AM.
The “SKOCH Order of Merit” honour would be conferred  to Kathua- PARYAS at 37th SKOCH Summit on ”  Minimum Government, Maximum Governance ”  being held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on the 19-20th September.
SKOCH AWARDS are for recognizing persons who have contributed immensely to salutary transformations in society and governance by displaying exemplary leadership abilities. “SKOCH awards” are the highest independently instituted civilian honours in India. Since 2003, when these were instituted, the Awards have become the only independent benchmark of best practices in India in the fields of governance, finance, banking, technology, corporate citizenship, economics and inclusive growth.
