JAMMU, Dec 23: Under the leadership of Khalil Ahmed Choudhary, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi (also Pr District and Sessions Judge Reasi), and Pooja Gupta, Secretary DLSA Reasi, DLSA Reasi organised an awareness program and quiz competition on the topic “Protect Today, Secure Tomorrow”- Environmental Legal Literacy & Community Protection Initiative at Legal Literacy Club Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Reasi and Govt. Higher Secondary School, Katra.
The objective of both the programs was to enhance environmental Legal literacy among the students regarding pollution exposure, guidance on understanding air quality levels, recognising unsafe environmental conditions and adopting practical, low cost preventive measures such as use of masks etc. Dheeraj Singh Thakur, Assistant LADC DLSA Reasi was the resource person in the program. The staff, students and PLVs participated in the said programs.
In addition to this, an awareness program on NALSA (Effective Implementation of Poverty Alleviation Schemes) 2015 was also held at Panchayat Ghar Garn, Katra in collaboration with Self Help Group. The objective of the program was to make people understand and claim their rights for better benefits and improved implementation of Central/state poverty alleviation programs.
