POONCH, Dec 19: District Police Poonch laid a special naka at Fazla-Abad Bridge under the jurisdiction of Police Station Surankote and apprehended a person with narcotic tablets.
During routine checking led by SHO Inspector Aejaz Wani, police subjected pedestrians to lawful frisking. One individual was found in possession of 8 strips of Tapentadol tablets (80 tablets) and 3 strips of Tramadol tablets (45 tablets).
The accused was identified as Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Shabir Ahmed, resident of Dhra Mohra, tehsil Surankote, district Poonch, and was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, FIR Number 294/2025 under Sections 8/20/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Surankote. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and network involved in the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs.
