SRINAGAR, Aug 26: Army today said that they have intensified operations along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir after recent spurt in infiltration attempts by militants from Pakistan, killing one militant today bring the death toll in two operations in Keran and Kalaroos to 9 including, three Army personnel.
A defence spokesman said here that Army in its on operation in Kalaroos this morning established contact with the militant group whose three members were killed two days back, killing one militant. He said that an AK-47 rifle and war like stores were recovered from him.
It may be mentioned here that a soldier and a militant were killed in two separate operations in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district near the Line of Control (LoC) yesterday.
The operations that were launched on Saturday night against two groups of infiltrators in Keran sector of the LoC and at Kalaroos are still going on. So far six militants and three Army personnel were killed.
