Northern Army Commander reviews security preparedness in Poonch’s Haribudha

POONCH, Dec 5: Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, today visited Haribudha in Poonch district to review the operational preparedness of Army units deployed in the sector.
The visit was part of his ongoing assessment of security arrangements across Jammu, Kashmir and the high-altitude areas of Ladakh.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on the overall security scenario, including threat perceptions, recent terror activities and the progress of counter-terror operations.
He reviewed surveillance systems, technology-based monitoring tools and rapid response measures put in place to counter emerging threats.
The Army Commander interacted with field commanders and troops, taking stock of their readiness in the challenging terrain of the Pir Panjal region.
He stressed the need for close coordination among units, stronger intelligence integration and continuous vigilance in sensitive areas vulnerable to infiltration attempts.
Lt Gen Sharma praised the troops for their dedication and professionalism, noting their vital contribution to maintaining peace and stability in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
His recent visits-from border areas in Jammu to forward locations in the Valley and high-altitude posts in Ladakh-reflect the Northern Command’s focus on strengthening operational capabilities, logistics and troop morale.
