
Fast unto death enters 3rd day

KATHUA, Nov 26: The fast unto death started by the family members of three youth whose dead bodies were found in Ishu nullah in Billawar area nine months back entered the third day at Billawar today. Three members of family led by Chamail Singh are on fast unto death to get justice as they are demanding investigation by CBI or NIA.
Undeterred by the cold weather, they continued hunger strike for last three days. Number of social and political organizations have come in support of bereaved families and showed solidarity with them.
The Beopar Mandal The members of business community in Billawar downed the shutters of their business establishments for two hours in morning on the call of Beopar Mandal and joined hunger strike. The Auto Rickshaw Union also came in support of protesting families and joined protest demonstration at Naaz bridge Billawer and disrupted traffic movement in protest against the targetted killings in Billawar area.
They demanded early justice into the matter.
On the other hand the condition of three members on fast unto death is deteriorating. A medical team reached on the spot and examined the condition of people on fast.
To pacify and insist to withdraw hunger strike, SDPO Billawar and SHO Billawar reached on the spot and submitted a proposal to withdraw hunger strike.
But the protesting family members totally refused to budge till their demand is met. Chamail Singh raised only single demand of CBI or NIA enquiry order a condition to withdraw hunger strike. The protesters criticized the police for its failure to hold a thorough probe into the killings.
They said that during last nine months ten people were killed mysteriously and it indicates that these are target killings because militants and their OGW are active in this area. They demanded that these elements be identified and arrested.
