SRINAGAR, Nov 23: Two bodies were recovered today from Nala Haji Peer near the Larabal Balkote area of Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

As per officials, the deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Abdul Baseer Pathan, son of Salam Din Pathan and a resident of Balkote, and 18-year-old Shafiya Bano, daughter of Mohammad Mushtaq Awan from Thajal.

According to preliminary reports, officials said, the pair may have slipped from a hillside and fallen into the stream. However, officials said the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear.
A police team rushed to the spot after being alerted and retrieved both bodies. “An investigation has been initiated, and the required medico-legal formalities are underway,” officials added.
