JAMMU, Nov 19: A truck driver from Punjab was found dead in the canal at Satwari area here today.
Body of Dewinder Singh (46) son of Partap Singh of Jhok Sarkari, Momera, Faridkot, Punjab, was spotted floating in the canal near Sabzi Mandi this afternoon by some passerby, who informed the police, a police official said.
He said, accordingly, a team of Police Station Satwari reached at the spot and shifted the body to the mortuary of the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, police have initiated the inquest proceedings to further investigate into the matter.
