DODA, Nov 12: Police here today seized a tipper loaded with illegally extracted sand in Thathri area.
Acting on reliable information, cops during a Naka checking at Kalnai Bridge intercepted a tipper bearing registration number JK17-2466 which was involved in the illegal transportation of sand. The vehicle was carrying sand without any permission from the designated mining zone.
The seizure was made under the supervision of SHO Police Station Thathri, Sandeep Parihar and the District Mining Officer was informed to initiate further legal action as warranted under the law.
A handout stated that Doda Police has intensified efforts to curb illegal mining in the district and has reiterated strict action against all the violators involved in unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals.
Doda Police has appealed to the general public to cooperate with cops and promptly report any information related to the illegal mining activities at the nearest Police Station.
