JAMMU, Nov 4: Two individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement in a murderous assault on a man in Rajpura area last month over some old animosity.
The victim, Sham Singh of Garkhal, was attacked with sharp-weapons at Royalty Point, Rajpura, on October 27 over some mining related dispute by six individuals, resulting in severe injuries to the former, a police official said.
He was initially admitted to Government Medical College Jammu, from where he was later taken to a hospital in Punjab for advanced treatment, he said.
Following the incident, he said, a case under FIR number 152/2025 under the relevant sections of the BNS and Arms Act was registered at Police Station Kanachak and further investigation taken up.
After sustained efforts by a team of Police Station Kanachak, he said, two individuals, including the key accused, Arun Sharma of Bhalwal and another individual, Sahil of Malpur, TCP, were arrested today, with another accused, Ankush Sharma of Manyal Brahamana, arrested earlier, already in the judicial custody.
The police official said the weapons used in the attack were also recovered today.
According to him, efforts are underway to arrest the other three accused wanted in the crime.
