CGPWA releases newsletter “Jammu Pensioner’s Post”

JAMMU, Nov 4: The Central Govt Pensioners’ Association (CGPWA) formally released the first edition of its quarterly newsletter, “Jammu Pensioner’s Post,” in a function held here today.
The newsletter was unveiled by association president Kuldeep Khoda in presence of patron S S Wazir.
The inaugural edition highlights various activities of the CGPWA and features key Government circulars from the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare and CGHS, aimed at keeping pensioners informed of important policy updates.
In addition, the publication carries two dedicated articles by medical professionals addressing issues affecting senior citizens.
Dr Manu Arora, Head of Psychiatry at GMC Jammu, has contributed a piece titled “Aging with Dignity: Understanding Mental Health in Later Years,” while Dr Parul Gohil, Consultant Anesthesia & Pain Physician at SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, has written “Beyond the Aches: Strategies for Managing Chronic Pain.”
The newsletter also features a page of Hindi poetry penned by CGPWA members.
Speaking on the occasion, general secretary K B Jandial announced that besides the quarterly newsletter, the association plans to compile a year-end compendium of all relevant orders issued by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare and CGHS, serving as a ready reference for pensioners.
President Kuldeep Khoda lauded the initiative, noting that the newsletter would not only document the Association’s activities but also promote awareness on health and wellness among senior citizens.
Meanwhile, the Association also celebrated the Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s historic World Cup victory.
Extending congratulations to the team, members hailed the cricketers for their remarkable achievement, which brought the nation together in jubilation.
