SRINAGAR, Aug 16: A pedestrian has died and six persons were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said a scooter JK01N/0859 hit and injured a pedestrian Ghulam Hassan Khan son of Mudasir Khan of Kupwara near Shalteng, Srinagar. The scooterist and two pillion mates were also injured in this accident. All the injured were shifted to SKIMS Soura and SMHS Srinagar for treatment. However, Ghulam Hassan Khan succumbed to his injures on way to SMHS Hospital.
A Maruti car JK04B/2556 driven by Showkat Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi of Borwah turned turtle near Tangbagh in Chadoora, resulting in injuries to the driver and other person Mukhtar Ahmed Raina son of Ghulam Ahmed of Gorwali Chadoora. Both the injured were shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment.
In another accident, an Alto car JK01J/6116 met with an accident at Batengoo in Khanabal, Anantnag, when a poplar tree fell on it, resulting in injuries to Nazir Ahmed Bhat son of Khazir Mohammad Bhat of Panzgam Kokernag. The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment. The spokesman said police has registered cases in these accidents.
