SRINAGAR, Oct 26: The two-day annual cultural festival “Rang-e-Chinar 2.0” concluded at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar with vibrant performances, artistic exhibitions, and massive participation that turned the campus into a hub of creativity and celebration.
Held under the theme “Roots and Rhythms,” the festival witnessed over 8,000 attendees, including students, faculty, alumni, and visitors from across Jammu and Kashmir.
Participants from 25 institutions competed in more than 40 events ranging from music, dance, drama, and photography to Henna Art, Fabric Painting, Crochet, and Clay Art.
The festival ended on a high note with energetic pro-shows by Waqar Khan, Mir Brothers Band, Shor Band, and DJ On Edge, which drew huge applause from the audience.
Director NIT Srinagar, Prof Binod Kumar Kanujia, said “Rang-e-Chinar” was not just a festival but a celebration of imagination, teamwork, and the institute’s cultural diversity.
He said the theme represented a blend of heritage and modern creativity, encouraging students to stay rooted in their culture while embracing global perspectives.
Registrar Prof Atikur Rehman said such events help students develop confidence, communication, and leadership skills, while Dean Students’ Welfare Prof Mohammad Abid Bazaz praised the organizing team for their dedication and professionalism.
Festival Coordinator Dr Janani L said the overwhelming response reflected students’ growing enthusiasm for creative pursuits.
The event was supported by the Bureau of Indian Standards, J&K Bank, Rising Kashmir, ANN News, and Rampage Advertising Agency.
With its wide participation and excellent management, “Rang-e-Chinar 2.0” has set a new benchmark for cultural events at NIT Srinagar, highlighting the institution’s vibrant spirit and commitment to holistic student development.
